Life’s various stages have brought me into contact with my inner warrior. Initially, I was overwhelmed by the flood of both verbal and physical abuse that marked my early childhood and adult life, wearing me down considerably. However, it was the simultaneous entering into therapy and the power of my spiritual practices in the early 90s that prompted me to affirm my truth, invoke my inner warrior, and staunchly uphold my beliefs.

This journey was intimidating as I had grown accustomed to an abusive backlash whenever I attempted to assert myself. As a defensive mechanism, I initially reacted with intense anger, constructing a barrier around me, because I didn’t know any other way to protect myself.

However, as I matured and stepped more fully into my power over time, I was able to acknowledge and trust the Inner Warrior within me. I faced my fears and challenges, steadfastly holding my ground. This process unfolded through cultivating a deep respect for myself, practicing self-love and extending compassion towards myself – habits I continue to nurture even today.
