In our practice today, we include all creatures great and small and truly all beings. We offer lovingkindness to all beings in various categories, including enlightened beings and unenlightened beings. As Sharon says, “Enlightened beings are those who are good hearted, committed to wisdom, to love, to compassion. Unenlightened beings are those who live in ignorance. So, all enlightened beings and all unenlightened beings.”
As we continue we can feel the power of our practice. I know for me as I include all beings everywhere without distinction, we feel a larger capacity for love within me. Yes, distraction happens, but it is simply returning to the intention and the phrases that all be safe, happy, well, peaceful and at ease.
At times I close my classes with:
May all beings by happy
May all beings be well
May all beings be safe
May all beings be peaceful and at ease.
